creator's Camp: Our story

At Creator's Camp Cypress we believe that true learning happens when we use the magic of stories to inspire art, science, movement and more!! In this rapidly-moving technological world, camp allows for a pause, a chance to disconnect from the world, and to connect to an inner magic and creativity that we believe lies within every child. Through stories, crafts, culinary adventures, nature walks, open-ended makerspace moments and more...campers are given the tools and space to 

bring their inner creativity to life.

We offer a wide range of activities at Creator's Camp Cypress, including arts and crafts, culinary arts, storytelling, music and movement, and more. Our experienced staff members lead engaging activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.

What began as an idea shared with my then 13-year-old daughter Caroline has blossomed into a beloved summer tradition. We launched Creator's Camp from our home in March 2021, starting with small groups of campers and growing steadily over the past five summers. Today, Caroline, Carter, and Claire help in running the camps, creating a warm, family-centered environment where creativity thrives. As a certified teacher, former elementary librarian, and coordinator for reading and writing in elementary schools, Lauren brings her 20+ years in education together with her love of children and stories. Over the years, Caroline has grown up and into our go-to leader for all things crafty, while Carter and Claire keep the fun flowing with popsicle parties and epic water balloon wars. 

Creator's Camp isn't just a business - it's a summer tradition our whole family cherishes.

Lauren brings over two decades of educational expertise to Creator's Camp. She holds an undergraduate degree in Education from Texas A&M University and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. As a certified school librarian with 21 years of public school experience, Lauren has dedicated her career to fostering a love of learning and literacy in children. Her background as an elementary librarian and coordinator of curriculum for reading and writing uniquely positions her to create engaging, enriching camp experiences that blend creativity, storytelling, and hands-on learning. Lauren's passion for children and education shines through in every aspect of Creator's Camp.

For the past five years, Caroline, Carter, and Claire have grown up alongside Creator's Camp, each bringing their unique talents and energy to our campers. Caroline, now a college freshman pursuing a teaching career, continues the family tradition of education and leads our crafting activities with creativity and care. Carter, a high school junior with a deep love for music and movement, brings rhythm and energy to camp days. Claire, a seventh grader who excels in dance and art, adds her artistic flair and youthful enthusiasm to every session. Together, they create an environment where campers feel welcomed, inspired, and encouraged to explore their own creative passions.
